3/10/2023
Christine Martinez, MSN, R.N., has been appointed chief nursing officer (CNO) of Laredo Medical Center (LMC). She joined LMC on February 6 after serving as the cancer center director and quality director from April 2020 through February 2023 at another medical facility.
With more than 25 years in the field of nursing administration, Martinez has served in several key capacities at LMC since June 1998, including director of education, assistant chief nursing officer, chief quality officer and chief nursing officer.
“I am pleased Christine has returned to Laredo Medical Center to serve as the chief nursing officer,” says Jorge Leal, FACHE, chief executive officer. “Having served in a variety of key leadership positions over the last 25 years gives her the distinct knowledge and skill base needed to oversee all clinical aspects and patient care at LMC.”
Martinez received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
She and her husband are the proud parents of two children.
